What can brighten someone's day or lift their spirits more
than the gift of fresh flowers?
These images are just some of the many beautiful,
vibrant flowers I have been fortunate to received...
The striking Frangipani varieties fall under the scientific
name of Plumeria.
|
The Frangipani title derived from a sixteenth century
nobleman named Marquis Frangipani.
He created a unique perfume,
extremely popular for
scenting gloves. When the flower arrived in Europe
shortly afterwards and produced a scent
similar to his perfume, the name
stuck.
The strong, delicate white Frangipani flowers symbolise:
Strength to withstand tough challenges
Welcoming guests and inviting them to stay
(as used in
Hawaiian leis)
Penetrating and everlasting love between two people
Eternal and spiritual devotion over multiple
lifetimes
Frangipani flowers are chosen for:
Temple and home decoration
Weddings and special occasions
Lifting a friend’s morale during a difficult
time
Connecting and honouring spirits of loved ones
Reminding yourself of the immortality of the soul
of health problems, including Cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.
A message from the Frangipani flower…
Being delicate and beautiful does not mean you are
weak or incapable of rising to meet a challenge
The Purple Iris symbolises: Grandeur, Faith, Wisdom, Hope and Bravery. |
The Iris received its name from the
carried messages to the Gods over the
rainbow bridge between Earth and Heaven.
The Ancient Greeks began planting Purple Iris
flowers on the graves of their beloved women,
to entice the Goddess Iris to guide them
through their journey to heaven.
The bright Red Rose signifies romance. |
The Red Rose signified courage and power during the ongoing
"Wars of the Roses" where it stood as the emblem for the
Royal House of Lancaster (1455 to 1487.)
Whenever I have Lilies in my house, I take numerous
photos as they open out a little more every day. The graceful,
oriental Pink Stargazer Lily symbolizes wealth and prosperity.
Beautiful apricot colour Lilies enhanced with stems of
Silvery Blue Eucalyptus and sprigs of Baby's Breath
add a touch of warmth, happiness and love.
